
The Secretary to Ondo State Government, SSG, Barr. Princess Oladunni Odu has applauded the StandUp for Women Society, SWS on its various activities to liberate women to enable them being considered in the schemes of things in the development of the state and the country at large.
Princess Odu gave the commendation while receiving the executive members of the society in her Office in Alagbaka Akure on Thursday.
Odu urged women to be united, respectful, humble and submissive so that they can be recognised and allowed to get the target of what they wanted.
Observing women as a perfect home managers and in the various field they find themselves, Odu noted that women should be given the chance to showcase themselves so that the world will know that they can also contribute to the nation’s development.

According to her, the Ondo state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, is a woman-friendly governor who has created the enabling environment for them to thrive in his cabinet which she stated has done excellently well with 8 women exco members and 2 local government chairmen, indicating that the state is ripe for a female governor.
She urged women to be more united to fight for their rights but avoid any form of confrontation, but just to let the men know that they should give women the space to fly.

“We must be united to get to where we are going, you must massage their ego to get to the top, not sleeping with them.

“I have never said I wanted to compete with the men, but give me the atmosphere to strive, the wings to fly”
” If you know you are much better than them, go along with him, massage their ego and contribute your quota to let them know you are also part of them.
“We were in slumber, but now awake,” she stated.
Earlier, the State President of StandUp for Women Society, Liberator Rafat Momoh said the organisation is a non political, non tribal and non religious organization which is aimed at promoting the interest of women emancipation.
She said the state has its membership across the 36 state of the Federation including over 15 west African countries.
She expressed the interest of the organisation in the empowerment of the women, stressing particularly that they are ever ready to partner with any relevant organisation and the government to ensure that women get their rightful position whereever they find themselves.
