NUJ, NAWOJ Set to Treat Journalists’ Children to Fun-Filled End-of-Session Party
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, in collaboration with the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ondo State Chapter, will on Saturday host an end-of-session party for children of journalists in the state as part of activities to celebrate the completion of the 2025/2026 academic session.
The event, scheduled to take place on July 25 at the NUJ Press Centre, Alagbaka, Akure, is expected to provide a relaxing and entertaining atmosphere for children during the long vacation.
A statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Comrade Oluwatosin Ighoteguono, and the Secretary, Comrade Kemi Ademola, said the programme is aimed at rewarding the children for a successful academic session while promoting social interaction and recreation.
According to the statement, the Proprietress of Mummy’s Place Nursery and Primary School and Emplace College, Akure, Dr. Damilola Oshin, will serve as the Mother of the Day. The Chairman of the NUJ in Ondo State, Prince Leke Adegbite, will be the Chief Host, while the NAWOJ State Chairperson, Comrade Tola Gbadamosi, will host the event.
The organisers said participants would enjoy a variety of activities, including games, music, entertainment and refreshments, all designed to make the holiday memorable for the children.
They added that winners of various competitions would receive prizes and gifts to encourage excellence, build confidence and enhance the overall experience.
The committee appealed to journalists across the state to ensure their children participate in the programme, assuring them that adequate arrangements have been made to guarantee a safe, enjoyable and memorable outing.
