
… Commiserates over Akeredolu’s death
The League of Imams in Akureland under the leadership of the Chief Imam of Akure Kingdom, Alhaji Abdulhakeem Yayi-Akorede has congratulated Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as the new Ondo state governor.
It called on Governor Aiyedatiwa, as he embarked on the noble journey of governance with great hope and trust to consider a Muslim as his deputy for prosperity, positive transformation and inclusiveness.
In a jointly signed statement by the Chairman, League of Imams Akure land, Imam Shaykh Raji Kewuyemi; its Secretary, Imam Qamardeen Bintinlaye; Chairman, Special Duty Committee of the group, Imam Ismail Ododoloto and the Secretary, Special Duty Committee of the group ,lmam Olayinka Yusuf and made available to the media stated that the momentous occasion of Governor Aiyédatiwa did not only marks the beginning of a new chapter in his illustrious career, but also represents a promising era for the people of the state.
It pointed out that the huge responsibilities on his shoulders and expressed confidence that his wealth of experience, integrity, and commitment to the welfare of the people will guide him in making wise and impactful decisions for the progress of the state.
According to the statement “Your Excellency Governor Aiyedatiwa, as you embarks on this noble journey of governance, we have great hope and trust that your tenure will be marked by prosperity, positive transformation and inclusivity.
“To demonstrate this inclusivity, we enjoin you to consider a Muslim as your deputy as well for other appointments.
“Once again, congratulations Governor Aiyedatwa. May your time in office be marked with success, fulfillment, and the betterment of the lives of all citizens and residents of our great state.
The imams, further expressed their sympathy and deepest condolences over the death of former Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to his immediate and political families, praying to Allah to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
They described the late governor as a statesman, dedicated public servant and visionary leader who, until his demise, tirelessly worked for the betterment of our state and the country.
It maintained that his commitment to public service, unwavering dedication and passion for the well-being of the citizens will ever be remembered and cherished.
