2023 IWD: SWS urges women to embrace digital innovation, technology for better World

Women in the world have been urged to embrace digital innovation and technology to build a better society and the World at large.

The Interational President of StandUp for Women Society, Barr. Deborah Ijadele- Adetona made this call in a press statement released from the office of the National Public Relationss Officer, Liberator Billie Nwogu which was made available to the media.

Barr. Ijadele-Adetona declared that said the theme of the year, DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality aligned with the priority theme for the upcoming 67th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW-67), “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”.

With the development, the society called on women to grab the opportunity provided to explore the impact of the digital gender gap on widening economic and social inequalities.

UN Women, the release stated are bringing women and other marginalized groups into technology results in more creative solutions which has greater potential for innovations that meet women’s needs and promote gender equality.

Barr. Ijadele-Deborah expressed the readiness of the society to partner with well-spirited Nigerians and Government to make it a reality in Nigeria.

“As women, we are empowered by our creator to also create and to impact our world.

” And let me tell you that with technology, you can run your business, trade, learn and further your education from the comfort of your home.

Please, do not ignore the call to embrace technology or the digital world.

Pls, do not remain where you are, let us acquire knowledge and spread it all around the world because, without us, the world is incomplete.”

He however saluted all the past and present heroines who have fought for the liberation of women across the countries paving way for women taking decisions and making marks in the affairs of men for a better society.
