Appointments are based on political interest and sometimes on certain strategic manouvering, Aiyedatiwa stated.
The Ondo state Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa made this statement while playing host to leaders of the Muslim community in Ondo state on Monday.
Aiyedatiwa explained that the political appointments made so far had to be done because government has to start running and that political interest is first considered before religious intrerest.
He also noted that there are some appointments that are made by carrier like the office of the Head of Service which is only appointed to the most senior officer in the civil service structure.
According to him, the appointment of the deputy Governor was distributed to Owo to honour late Akeredolu and the people of Owo while office of the SSG went to Akure because the government is a transitory one to complete the tenure of the ongoing administration.
Ayiedatiwa who charged the muslim community to make their demands before appointments are made , assured that govermment will be mindful in subsequent appointment but that political interest supercedes religious interest because appointment can not be given to those who are not actively involved in politics.
Aiyedatiwa, who sees no reason in returning schools to the missioneries said government has also supported in refunding special muslim schools for people to choose which they want their children to attend.
” we have taken step to recruit teachers to address the general shortage of teachers in the schools, ” Aiyedatiwa said.
In addition, the Governor expressed the interest in looking onto the use of hijab in the public schools while confirming that board of Parastatals may not be dissolved so that they can complete their responsibility.
The governor later promised to serve the people pointing particularlly to security of the state so that investors and the people can do their businesses without fear to bring development to the state.

Ealier in an address by the Chairman League of Imams and Alfas, Ondo state, Chief Imam Sheik Dr. Ahmed Olagoke Aladesawe , solicited the support if the governor in the building of a state Islamic Development Center in Akure.
The speech which was read by the state secretrary of the group, Alhaji said the center collaborate with government agencies and private organisation for youth development, empowerment and peaceful coexistence among the religious adherents and the society at large.
Aladesawe Showed disappoinment on trend of political appointments made in Ondo state which he described as strategically and critically marginalizing the muslims which is reducing them to sub-human being because they are not in government rather are they involved in governance.
According to him, muslims are strategically not being engaged nor empowered to part-take in the running of the government so that the strategic and cardinal objective of the “MUSLIM marginalization agenda” can be realised.
The body however Called for Resuscitation of the Nigeria Inter Religious Council in order to facilitate smooth interaction between the Religious body and the government.
Also, that Fair distribution of social amenities and infrastructure around the nooks and crannies of the state without fear or favour.
They Aiyedatiwa not to support the return of schools to the faith-based organisation/Religious body/Church which they described as fraud.
Assuring him of their moral and spiritual support in all his programmes and policies, they expressed their satisfaction with some of the giant steps taken on some volatile issues since taking over the mantle of leadership in Ondo State, among which includes payment of gratuities , salaries as well as the back log ones.
