Hajj 2024: Osun Gov doles out cash to Pilgrims

In his efforts to stop delay in boarding aircraft from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, due to logistic reasons, Osun State Governor ,Senator Ademola Adeleke compensated the last batch of 160 Pilgrims with the sum of N15,000 each.
Governor Adeleke made the cash donation while addressing 160 Pilgrims from Osun State to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Governor who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, pointed out that the cash gift came as a result of the need to cushion the effects of flight delay of the last batch of the intending Pilgrims.
He, however appealed to the affected Pilgrims to remain calm as all efforts have been concluded to ensure their departure soon to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In his address, the Commissioner for Hajj Operations under National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, Prince Hanafi Elegunsi assured the pilgrims that the Commission has sorted out the issue and that they will be airlifted as soon as possible to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He also, on behalf of NAHCON, announced the sum of #3,000 for each of the pilgrims as well as #1,700 each from the Flyna Airline.
The Executive Secretary, Osun State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr Muritala Fakunle who also identified with the affected 160 intending pilgrims on behalf of the State Government, used the opportunity to commend and thank the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke for the kind good gesture with a declaration that the pilgrims from Osun State who are already in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are doing fine.
