Governor Babagana Zulum on Saturday visited the specialist Hospital in the post office area of Maiduguri, to see things for himself.

During the visit, he expressed satisfaction regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of the hospital based on the ongoing transition plans.

During the visit, the Governor noted that in spite of efforts in his first term, the hospital still has challenges ranging from inadequate doctors, offices and inadequate bed space to accommodate the increasing number of patients.

” we have examined the capacity of the hospital and we will soon embark on erecting more structures and make certain adjustments in such a way doctors and other health allied staff will have offices in the premises” he remarked while going round

He added that the government will procure medical equipments that are needed in the hospital, recruite more doctors and nurses and ensure that water and sanitation facilities are provided.

“All these efforts are geared towards prepositioning the health care system in Borno State”, Zulum said.

Zulum also inspected the staff quarters of the hospital where he promised to renovate and erect new blocks of flats at the premises to accommodate doctors close to the hospital to give in their best.

The Governor stopped on another surprised visit at a construction site, where flats are under construction by the state government at the old police ground, which is about 70 to 80% completion.
