Six women traveling to their father’s funeral in Chibok have been kidnapped between Jakana and Auno in Borno state by suspected insurgents.

The women who left Abuja on Saturday in a Siena mini bus to attend their father’s funeral have been abducted between Jakana and Auno along the maiduguri Damaturu highway.

Reliable sources told newsmen in maiduguri that the minibus was carrying about eight people including six of the late Damien Chibok’s daughters and 2 men including the driver.

Fortune smiled on some of the occupants of the mini bus as two of the ladies considered to be minors and one male were released on Sunday.

Two of them and the driver are still being held captive by the suspected insurgents while a ransom of N5m is being demanded as ransom for their release.

“Several messages have been sent out for prayers for the speedy return of the abducted. Because we don’t know where to get the N5m each they are asking” said a family source.
