New Year Message: Work Towards Inclusiveness, SWS Task Women in Ondo
Nigerian women have been urged to work towards achieving a sense of belonging and inclusiveness in governance for a better Nigeria.
The Ondo State Chairperson of Stand Up for Women Society (SWS) Alhaja Rafat Momoh gave this advice in her New Year message to all Ondo State women through a statement issued and personally signed by her, which was made available to the media.
She said women should be more focused this year and perform excellently in their different endeavours to showcase their ability to deliver.
According to her, they should go the extra mile, from their homes and farms, to equip themselves and their children to be bold in facing challenges, thereby encouraging confidence in their own capabilities.
This, she affirmed, would encourage them to catch young minds, helping them to compete favourably with their male counterparts.
Momoh also reminded that women’s involvement in societal activities is not to counter men, but to demonstrate that women are capable and can contribute positively in shaping the country for the better.
The Chairperson used the opportunity to congratulate members and Nigerians for witnessing the dawn of the new year, 2025, and thanked God for the grace of good life that enabled them to overcome the challenges of 2024.
She commended the members of the SWS for their tireless efforts in promoting the welfare of women and vulnerable individuals through advocacy and intervention, calling on them not to relent but to strive to do more and be more.
Momoh urged members to remain resolute in their pursuit of the organization’s vision and mission, which seeks to eradicate abuse, assault, and injustice against women and other vulnerable members of society.
She emphasized the importance of focusing on the fight against gender-based violence, female genital mutilation, and other forms of oppression.
As the voice for the voiceless and the hope for those who have lost it, SWS, she affirmed, is committed to creating a just and equitable society.
She wished Ondo State women a fulfilling year ahead, praying for good health, prosperity, and the achievement of the association’s aims and objectives in the coming year.
