IET/DIN, FOMWAN Trained 650 Southwest Muslims on Shariah Intelligence.

A total of number of 650 Muslims have been trained in Shariah Intelligence course across the Southwestern states of Nigeria over the past 18 months.
Among them were People with Disabilities (PWD), who were recently trained to promote absolute inclusiveness.

In a statement from Shariah Intelligence course cordinator which was made available to the media, the training was a joint initiative between the Islamic Education Trust (IET) and Dawah Institute (DIN), in partnership with FOMWAN, Ondo State Chapter.

The training is an ongoing capacity-building programme for youth on Islam, nation-building, and community social responsibility.

The Southwest Coordinator of IET/DIN, Dr. Adetokunbo Abdulsalam, stated that the Shariah Intelligence programme was designed to encourage Muslims to be key game-changers in their respective communities.

“It also focuses on respect for scholarship, the unity of the Ummah, what to do when scholars have different opinions on any Islamic matters, the roots and principles of Islamic law, the maxims of Islamic law, and Islamic jurisprudence. Shariah is a natural principle to guide human endeavors,” he said.

He stressed that Shariah is more than just Islamic law; it is a way of life, encompassing love, respect, compassion and protection of life and the universe.

He further explained that the purpose of the training was to encourage effective participation in community discourse and social services. Participants were drawn from five local government areas across Ondo State.

The training was conducted to challenge participants to recognize opportunities in their current situations and to develop relationships with their environment to foster a greater sense of purpose and transformation.
