Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria, FOMWAN has called on female inmates of correctional homes to increase their believe and faith which is described as very important because God kept them for a purpose.
The Ondo state Chief Dawah officer, Alhaja Aminat Olagboyega stated this while addressing female inmates during her visit to the Surulere Correctional Home.
She advised them to hold on to faith and seek for forgiveness with sincere appreciation to God who she said will answer their prayers.
The Deputy Zonal Co-ordinator, South West 11, Alhaja Idayat Jimoh advised them on appreciating God always which supercedes every thing.
She narrated the story of of moses with some people demanding favours from God which was granted to the person who appreciates God.
The state Amirah , Alhaja Medinat Omikunle, in her remarks, harps more on the need for them to appreciate God despite the position they may find themselves.
She told them to be happy because there is still hope, saying God’s blessing still awaits them, but that God hid them for a purpose.
Omikunle appreciated the correctional home officials for taking good care of the inmates while she prayed for early release of the inmates to be in good health and prosperity.
The Correctional home Welfare officer, Mrs Bolawumi Ladesuyi appreciated FOMWAN for the visit and the assorted gifts brought for the inmates.
Ladesuyi appealed and called on all reputable organisations to make regular visitation to the inmates so that they do not feel rejected, but see themselves as part of the society.
According to her, such visits would complement government’s effort in sustaining the correctional home.
