Give Governor Adeleke another term, Makinde tells Osun people

By John Dike

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has asked the people of Osun State to reward the achievements of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, with another four-year term.

He said this was because the governor has achieved significant progress in the last two years, adding that giving him another four years would allow him to excel in other areas of governance.

He made this request on Wednesday while commissioning the completed dualization of Stadium Roundabout, Testing Ground Roundabout, Oke Baale Roundabout, and Ilesa Garage Roundabout, part of Oba Adesoji Adeyemi Way, a project by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke in Osogbo, Osun State.

He said he was not surprised by what Governor Adeleke has achieved in two years because both he and Adeleke belong to the progressive camp, and he is ready to continue supporting the people of Osun State to enjoy the dividends of democracy.

Makinde assured that the people of Oyo and Osun would never give the All Progressives Congress a chance to govern again.

He said the achievements of Adeleke are numerous, urging the people of Osun to give him another opportunity to govern the state.

For Makinde, the fact that Adeleke completed projects initiated by his predecessors marks significant progress in Nigeria’s leadership, saying it is not for mediocrity to handle.

While describing himself and his counterpart (Adeleke) as true progressives, Makinde said the nation is currently practicing a unitary system of government and has yet to experience true federalism.

He added that since the reward for good work is more work, Adeleke deserves another term.

Governor Ademola Adeleke, in his speech, said the commissioning of the 6 kilometers of completed dualization of Stadium-Ilesa Garage road is a fulfillment of the promise he made to the people of the state. He added that the completion of the dualization within record time has boosted the economic growth of the capital city and saved lives by preventing untimely deaths and injuries.

He warned against speeding on the new road, which was initiated by the administration of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

Adeleke disclosed that his government has completed over 150 kilometers of road projects, promising not to relent until “our infrastructure is fixed and until collective prosperity is achieved in our dear state.”
