OSACA elects new Executive, begins operation in May
The Ondo state Agricultural Commodity Association, OSACA, has elected new executive members to steer the leadership of the association for the next three years.
The leadership is expected to commence duty as from May this year.
The election which took place recently at the office headquarters along Ondo road in Akure, has Chief Engr. Abiodun Adejo as the Chairman, while Vice Chairman (Male) goes to Engr.Ogundare Julius.
“Vice Chairman (Women) goes to Taye Afilaka; Vice Chairman Youth; Ademola Akinbobade and General Secretary; Hon. Akin Ogunniyi.
Others are: Public Relation Officer, Sunday Akanji, Treasurer; Mrs Oginleye Ibidun, Sunni Olatunde emerged as Assistant Secretary and financial Secretary is Tunde Olalumade.
Addressing members during the election, the Chairman of the election, Mr Olufemi Oni appreciated the delegates and admonished those that won to take their victory as a call to service and that there is another day for those that lost the election.
He urged them to cooperate with the winners in moving the association to the next level of advancement.
The Director of Agricultural Services of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr Bayo Oloruntoba who represented the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, appreciated the leadership and the members for sustaining the organisation till this level, urging the new leadership on sustainability and growth.
Representative of the Solicitor-General of the state, Barr. Atimise Adeyemi, while applauding delegates for their conducts, observed the good structure the association has on ground which he said could attract intervention from both government and international bodies.
He reaffirmed the need for all farmers to be united under the same umbrella for development of the farmers towards a common purpose.
Earlier, the State Chairman of the Association, Mr Gbenga Obaweya, in a chat, said that the new leadership will commence duty from May 2024.
He implored farmers to always pay up the loans they accessed for others to benefit.
This, he noted, is the right thing to do and also, that the money is being deducted from OSACA’s annual grant.
The newly elected Chairman, Chief Abiodun Adejo on behalf of the Exco expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in them and promised to deploy his talents, treasures and time in service of OSACA and the state.
