The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Ondo State Chapter, has commended the Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for appointing two of its members into the Ondo State Cocoa Revolution and Management Board.
In a statement signed by its State Chairman, Dr. Monilari Abayomi Olugbenga, the association described the appointments of Mr. Omolade Fabiyi and Mr. Oni Tope as a demonstration of the governor’s commitment to agricultural development and inclusive governance.
AFAN said the appointments reflect the administration’s recognition of the importance of involving practicing farmers with hands-on experience in shaping agricultural policies and implementing programmes that directly impact the sector.
According to the association, the newly appointed board members possess the experience, integrity and grassroots knowledge needed to contribute meaningfully to the implementation of the state’s Cocoa Revolution agenda.
It expressed confidence that they would justify the trust reposed in them by working towards increased cocoa production, improved farmers’ income and the overall development of the cocoa value chain in Ondo State.
The association also reaffirmed its support for Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration and the Cocoa Revolution and Management Board, pledging to continue mobilising farmers across the state’s 18 local government areas to adopt modern farming practices and participate actively in government agricultural initiatives aimed at enhancing food security and economic growth.
AFAN thanked Governor Aiyedatiwa for what it described as a thoughtful and inclusive appointment, praying for wisdom and strength for the governor as he continues to lead the state.
