Ondo CPN Partners APIN on Child’s Welfare Enhancement
The Children Protection Network (CPN) in Ondo State has partnered with the AIDS Public Health Initiative Nigeria (APIN) to enhance the welfare of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC).
The collaboration, aimed at promoting the well-being of children, was formalised during a recent meeting they held in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The State Coordinator of CPN, Mrs. Olabisi Omolona, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, describing it as a welcome development.
She emphasised that the partnership would enable CPN to expand its reach and further its mission to protect vulnerable children.
Omolona outlined several initiatives for CPN this year, including advocacy campaigns, community sensitisation, and strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Women Affairs and the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Omolona also mentioned plans to attend the inauguration of the state’s new governor as part of their outreach efforts.
The collaboration received additional endorsements from CPN’s Assistant Secretary, Mrs. Dada Juliet, and Treasurer, Mrs. Bola Inyang, both of whom expressed their gratitude to APIN for its ongoing efforts and assured that the partnership would be fruitful and effective.
Representative of the APIN, Mr. Samuel Oyibo, during the meeting, emphasised the organisation’s commitment to supporting the Child Protection Network in Ondo State.
Oyibo highlighted the importance of institutionalising CPN and providing technical assistance to ensure the safety, health, and education of children in the state.
“We work with children who live with HIV in the state, and we believe that effective collaboration with the Child Protection Network in Ondo State would help further our goal of ensuring that children are healthy, in school, safe, and stable,” he said.
Oyibo also added that the collaboration would see both organisations working together to address the needs of children across the state, with a focus on sustainability and the active participation of both state and non-state actors.
