Ondo Chapter Condoles with NCWS over death of President
The Ondo state Chapter of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS ), has commiserated with the National Executive of the organisation over the sudden death of their National President, Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau.
In a condolence message from the State President, Bishop , Princess Oluseyi Oluwakemi Odusola which was made available for publication, the Ondo state chapter expressed sadness over the irreparable loss, describing It as indeed a tragic moment to them and the Nigerian women at large.
The message read that the late President made great and positive impacts on the Council and left an indelible foot print on the sands of time.
The Ondo chapter prayed that God accept and receive her soul in Jesus Christ name.
“Goodnight Mama Nigeria ” it read.
The National Council of Women Societies, NCWS, had earlier announced the passing of its National President, Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau, who passed on in the early hours of June 5, 2024, following a brief illness.
The late Lau was said to have been responsible for a number of empowerment programmes that ameliorated the Sufferings of many indigent women across the country.
A statement from the NCWS stated that her tireless efforts and contributions to the betterment of the society will never be forgotten.
According to the society, “Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau was a dedicated leader and champion of women’s empowerment who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
“Her tireless efforts and contributions to the betterment of our society will never be forgotten.
“Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau’s impact on women’s rights and empowerment has left an indelible mark on the community. Her leadership and dedication have inspired countless women and will continue to motivate future generations.”
The NCWS also announced that their late president will be laid to rest today in her hometown of Lau, Taraba State, in accordance with Islamic rites as further arrangements and details will be communicated in due course.
The society, therefore called on its members and the general public to join them in extending heartfelt condolences to Hajiya Lami Lau’s family, friends, and all members of the NCWS.
“We mourn the loss of our dear leader and friend, and we pray that God grants us the strength and grace to bear this irreparable loss. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
“Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau was born in 1962 and lived a fulfilled life of 62 years, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service to humanity.
“Her memory will continue to inspire and guide the NCWS and the wider community.”
