For confronting him over having amorous affairs with his step- daughter, a middle aged man , Kehinde Olanipekun who is now at large has reportedly macheted his wife, Mrs Damilola Olanipekun.

The woman who is now receiving treatment at a private hospital in Owo, sustained serious injuries inflicted on her during the vicious attack.

It was gathered that the incident which occurred at Idashen community in Owo took many residents by surprise. The victim was said to have been rushed by her neighbors who later came to her rescue to the FMC Owo but was referred to another hospital due to the high level of injuries inflicted on her by the fleeing husband.

The Hope gathered that the daughter, a 14-year-old, had called her mother who had travelled, crying and lamenting on how her mother’s husband has been harassing her sexually, attempting sexual affair with her

The mother who was infuriated about the report immediately rushed back home.

It was gathered that the sexual harassment had been happening a long time ago but the step-daughter out of fear of what could be her mother’s reaction kept the issue to herself.

However, sources hinted that when she could no longer bear the pressure mounted on her by the step-father, she summoned the courage and told her mother.

The mother who was said to have felt really disturbed about it confronted the husband. It was gathered that he did not deny it but apologized and admitted that he was wrong.

However, three days after the resolution of the matter, Olanipekun after dressing up for work, left home and returned back shortly after about an hour.

His wife, Damilola, said she asked him why he returned back that early. He said rain hindered him from work. She said Olanipekun sent the first and second kids on errands. “He dashed into the bedroom and returned with a filed cutlass.

He said that he wanted to go and clear his site. Within a twinkle of an eye, he locked her inside their bedroom and brutally attacked her, hitting her head, her eyes with his fist, punched her and grasped his machete again and started slashing my skin and every other part of my body.”

She said as she was wailing and crying for help, no one could come to her rescue. She said Olanipekun grasped hammer and hit her head like it was a nail.

She said she was desperately weak to defend herself and lying down helplessly, looking almost like a dead body. Damilola said neighbours were already knocking at the door to rescue her but the door was locked.

After a while, she said she managed to open the door and people were able to eventually rescue her. She said she was already unconscious as she was rushed to the hospital, even the doctor thought she was brought in dead but he realized that she was still breathing.

Police has now launched a man hunt for the fleeing husband.

In an interview with Ondo State PPRO, DSP Funmilayo Omisanya-Odunlami confirmed the incident but said the police is still on the look out for the man.
