
The Federation of Muslim Women Associations in Nigeria, FOMWAN, Ondo state chapter, has received gifts from Deen International Sadaka Women Group.
The gift which comprises of food stuffs like rice and beans were distributed in collaboration of the Deen International Sadaka Women Group and FOMWAN to further cushion the effects of the economic hardship facing widows and the less privilege in the society.
Speaking at the inaugural gift presentation, the state Amirah (President ) of the association, Alhaja Medina Omikunle said the state has just been added to the benefitting states who has never benefited from the yearly programme.

She applauded the guesture of the women group for donating towards the cause, assuring the beneficiaries that more important incentives are coming their way soon.
A member of the state Board of Adviser and a former Amira of the association, Alhaja Rafah momoh. appreciated the beneficiaries for accepting the little gift, saying that subsequent ones will be better than what they have got this year.
” It is not the gift that matters, but the love and expression that they are noticed and would henceforth be recognized.

While offering special prayers for the leadership of the association and the donors, the Akure South local government Amirah , Alhaja Hannat Esinloku thanked the leaders for their magnanimity to present what they were asked to distribute to the beneficiaries.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Alhaja Fatima Muraina thanked the donors for remembering the state as she said that the number of widows including the single mothers and the less privilege are at an alarming rate.
Muraina appealed that the donors should fashion a way to collaborate with relevant agencies and government for women better empowerment in the area of health , education and shelter which she said is the most tasking for most of the widows.

“Widows suffer a lot when they are sick or any of the children because they do not have finances to cater for them, most of their children drop out from school for their inability to pay school or tuitions while many who could not afford house rent look for incomplete buildings to hide their heads”
“Good policies to cover widows health, housing and education for their children should be put in place.
The benefitting widows numbering about 30 offer prayers to the donors and for God to continue to multiply for them where they got finances for the gift presentation.
