Joint Security Operatives kill 3 robbers, arrest 5 in Osun

Three armed robbers who attempted to attack Dangote Integrated Steel Rolling Mills in Osogbo have been killed by a joint security operatives comprising Police, Osun Amotekun, Anti-Cultism Squad and the Hunters.

Five others were also reported to have been arrested during the foiled robbery attack yesterday in Osun state capital.

Our correspondent learnt that the security operatives swung into action immediately the information got to them.

According to a report, the hoodlums on sighting the operatives, opened fire on them and in the process, three were killed while five others were reportedly nabbed .

Confirming the incident, the Amotekun Commander, Brig Gen Bashir Adewinmbi said : “we received a distress call from the CSO of the company at midnight that a group of Armed Robbers had invaded the company to steal”

” The Amotekun operatives immediately moved to the scene of the attack with the police Anti-Cultism Squad when the robbers sited the security men, they opened fire on them, five of the suspected Armed robbers were arrested with bullet wounds while three robbers died on the spot due to injuries sustained during the gun duel.”

He gave the names of the arrested suspects as Adepoju Abdulateef, 18 years, Rasheed Hammed, 20 years, Liadi Afeez, 20years , Wasiu Sodiq, 21 yrs , Rabiu Lekan, 28 ydars who come from Oke-Baale Osogbo while exhibits recovered from them are; One Single Barrel with Four Expended Shell and One Itel phone.

Adewinmbi applauded the operatives of Amotekun, Police, and Hunters for a job well done.

He confirmed that the operatives swung into action immediately in a joint operation with the Police Anti-Cultism Unit and Hunters moving to the scene of the incident when they got the information.

“The corpses of the three Armed Robbers killed had been deposited at Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo while the remaining Five suspects who sustained injuries during the gun duel were receiving treatment.”

The suspects, he stated, will be transferred to criminal investigation and intelligence Department at police Headquarters in Osogbo for discreet investigation and prosecution.
