Farmers move to boost production as OSACA gets new Exco
In a bid to boost food production and sustainability, Farmers in Ondo state have expressed their readiness to develop a synergy with governments at all levels and relevant stakeholders in communities the state, country and internationally.
This came just as the Ondo State Agricultural Commodity Association elect its new executive to run its affairs for the next three years.

The newly elected Chairman of the Ondo state Agricultural Commodities Associations, OSACA , Chief Abiodun Adejo disclosed this in an interview with The Hope in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
Adejo was elected after clearing the total vote cast of 101 delegates at the recently conducted election at the Association’s headquarters along Ondo road.
Chief Adejo, who is the Odole of Akure kingdom said the primary objective of the association is to see that poverty is alleviated among farmers at the rural areas who are struggling to keep food on the tables of those in town.

“We want to make sure that we develop a synergy between the farmers and the government for them to be able to access the good things that come from the government.
We also have to develop those private sectors to see what the farmers are doing so that we can boost food production in Ondo State,” he stated.
He observed that the state has a very good weather, vegetation and climate that can produce food for the whole Nigeria, saying that farmers will leverage on it to see how farmers are better taken care of .

According to him, this could be effected by having the normal and important tools they can work with and to also make sure that government is able to look into the plight of farmers everywhere and provide for them little succour that can make them stay and farm for the benefit of the state.
“We want to make sure that we kee into good agricultural practices where modern equipments will be employed and we will produce more food in quantum that not only for subsistence rate, but also for commercial purposes,” he affirmed.

Other executive members newly elected are:Vice Chairman (Male), Engr.Ogundare Julius.
“The position of Vice Chairman (Women) goes to Taye Afilaka; Vice Chairman Youth; Ademola Akinbobade and General Secretary; Mr. Akin Ogunniyi.
Others are: Public Relation Officer, Sunday Akanji, Treasurer; Mrs Oginleye Ibidun, Sunni Olatunde emerged as Assistant Secretary and financial Secretary is Tunde Olalumade.
