Clergy sensitizes faithfuls on Ramadan
…as Ondo FOMWAN intensifies awareness campaign on National Conference
As Ramadan approaches, Muslim faithfuls have been urged to fast as if it is their last one on earth because not all that witness this year’s Ramadan may be privileged to witness another one.
The Imam of Federal College of Forestry, Dr. Abdulazeez Abdulfatai made this statement while delivering his sermon at the college of Forestry Mosque in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
Imam Abdulfatai said people should observe fasting perfectly according to the tenets of the religion because they may not have such opportunity again.
” Fast with your body, eyes, mouth, nose, ears, hands and legs including any other part of your body,” he said.
He advised people to put into consideration the importance of making intention to fast and giving charity which he said are the major attributes of fasting.
He mentioned three conditions for observing intention point particularly to consistent and determination, intention should be clearly indicated and should be renewed on daily basis immediately after the night prayers.
He also mentioned the importance of Sunnah and etiquette, noting that Sabor, eating at the early morning before the morning prayer, saying that there are blessings for eating before commence fasting.
He called on those who were unable to complete their fasting for one reason or the other during last Ramadan to ensure that they complete it before commencing on that of this year.
Abdulfatai encouraged faithfuls to break their fast with fruits, dates or water and always give alms.
The Leadership of the Ondo state chapter of FOMWAN led by the state President, Alhaja Medinat Omikunle who worshipped at the college mosque later proceeded to. Alhaja. Aduke Kunle Abdul Akanbi for an official visit to campaign for the forthcoming FOMWAN National Conference which will be hosted by Ondo state.
The Chairman for the Local Organizing committee who doubles as the chairman, Humanitarian and community Development Committee, Alhaja Rafat Momoh, briefed Alhaja Zhikrah Aduke Akanbi ( nee Kunle Abdul ) on her participation at the national conference .
The Ondo state President of the association, Alhaja Medinat Omikunle expressed her satisfaction and later decorated Alhaja Akanbi and presentation of the second production of the state magazine followed immediately.
In her reaction, Alhaja Akanbi applauded the leadership for their steadfastness and commitment to the development of the association.
She appreciated FOMWAN for the visit and hinted them of her plans to partner FOMWAN in executing a project in Ikare.
