The Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has donated vehicles and motor cycles to boost the security apparatuses of the state against insurgency.
In a short ceremony held at the government house on Friday afternoon, 300 motorcycles
were given to the military to supervise the entire joint security outfit in the state.
A breakdown of the autocycles include a direct allocation of 175 to the military, 75 to the civilian joint task force (jtf) with 10 going to the agro rangers of the Nigerian Civil Defense Corp NDCDC.
The sharing formula will equally ensure that 30 of the autocycles will get to the vigilante who will use the bikes for their night patrolling sprees.
On 50 vehicles for distribution, 30 will get to the military while the remaining 20 will get to the remaining paramilitary of the nation.
Formed in 2019, the security trust fund (STF) was started by Professor Babagana Zulum to strengthen the security apparatus of the state against the lingering insurgency which has lasted for the last 13 years.
Making his remarks during the distribution, the Governor said this distribution is the first phase of the distribution this year.
” For the sake of supervision, the autocycles for the jtf will be given to the Army who will then decide who gets what and when necessary to use them.” said the Governor.
