… Launches Emblem to host 2024 National conference

The Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria FOMWAN, has called on all stakeholdees to ensure the sustanability of all the Muslim schools within Akoko North West local government area in Ondo state.

The Association has also launched an emblem for awareness creation to host year 2024 National Conference in Ondo state.

The FOMWAN Ondo state Amirah (President), Alhaja Medinat Omikunle charged the stakeholders when she led an entourage on a visit to muslim schools within the local government area during the just concluded state conference held at the Central Mosque, Ogbagi Akoko Ondo state.

The team which comprised of members of the state Board of Advisers, Alhaja Rafat Momoh, Alhaja Aminat Akimpelumi, Alhaja Amudalat Abdulsalam including the local government Amirahs made the visit to commemorate the celebration of the state conference.

They expressed their dissatisfaction on the state of the schools which they described as appalling.

Alhaja Omikunle called on parents to patronize the schools, saying patronage from parents would increase the number of the pupils while the imams should fashion out ways to ensure the employment of an arabic teacher for the pupils.

While applauding government for establishing the schools with very good infrastructures, she said the community where they are located and particularly the muslims should not neglect or misuse the opportunity given to them.

A member of the Board of Advisers who is also the Chairman of Humanitarian services, Alhaja Rafah Momoh urged the non governmental organisations to always visit the schools to curb the ineffectiveness of the teachers.

“The Imams and Parent Teachers Association should impact positively and ensure that their curriculum align with that of the government,” she advised.

The heads of the schools visited appreciated the visiting team and seek for more visitation subsequently.

The Zonal Coordinator South West ll, Hajia Sariyu Laoye who was represented at the event by her deputy, Alhaja Jimoh Ibrahim, said the emblem launched was to create awareness that the state will be hosting 2024 National conference.

She later decorated the state Amirah and the Board of Advisers while the Amirah replicated same on the local government Amirahs.

Other highlights of the conference include; visitation to the imams and the traditional Rulers within the hosting local governments, lectures, tahjjud, social night and recognition of Alhaja Rafah Momoh for the outstanding leader award among majority of others.
