… The gesture restored our hope – Beneficiaries

It was a moment of joy and a big relief for hundreds of vulnerable in Akure on Friday December 22nd, 2023 when they were showered with assorted gift items for the celebration of the yuletide season.

The beneficiaries who were looking unto the Lord on how to celebrate Xmas and New year were not only presented with food items, but the kind gesture was extended to their children who were engaged in a get-together dancing competition to make the event more colourful.

Three Father Christmas were on ground with gifts items given out to the highly elated children, thereby making the day more exciting and a fulfilling one.

Speaking on the development, the Chief Organiser of the occasion, Mrs Funke Oluogbagbemi said the initiation was to put smiles on the faces of the less privilege and renew their hope towards the celebration of the festive season.

The programme which was tagged; “Make a family Smile”, according to Oluogbagbemi, was facilitated by a group of people under “Fight for your child Organisation” which focuses on parents, encouraging them for a better future and caring for their children.

” It is an interdenominational organisation. All what we do is Christian based and not for any political reason, but established to ensure that the vulnerable and the less privileged are happy,’ she said.

According to her, children are gifts from God and should not be thrown away and abandoned for favouritism.

” Do not let Satan to penetrate through their lives by uttering negative statements on them but we must endeavour to take proper care of them.

She noted that the children are the target of the programme because many of them may not have opportunity to go out like others to celebrate the yuletide.

“This, she said is why this year’s celebration is unique extending invitation to the children to have fun and meeting the father Xmas.

Some of the beneficiaries who are conspicuously elated, expressed their joy over the organisers’ noble gesture in an interview, saying they are glad for the food items given to them free of charge adding that it will enable them celebrate the Xmas and New year with joy in their heart.

A beneficiary,, Adewunmi Bosede described the programme as a very laudable one and called on governments, well-to-do individuals and philanthropists to emulate the good gesture in bringing smiles to the people.

Also, Ayomide Oyejide appreciated the organization for the programme which she said has taken care of their fears on how to celebrate Xmas and new year.

” It is a commendable programme because many of us are still praying to God to take control and send a helper to us so that we can celebrate the season with others,” she said.

Another beneficiary, Mrs. Grace Solaide Ajumobi, declared that most people were still hoping on their God for Xmas celebration which they have gotten at the event.

“With these items given to us, Xmas and new year festivities have been taken care of. We now have things to celebrate it with. Organisers have wiped the tears of many downtrodden families away through this kind gesture. Before now, many families who are beneficiaries of today’s event do not have any hope of what to eat, but today, we are glad that God had sent succour to us.

Ajumobi observed the programme as a special one that also featured the visit of the father Xmas which enabled parents to come along with their children to celebrate.

The beneficiaries, however, poured out prayers to organisers of the life-impacting programme, praying, that God will bless them with more of sound health, more riches, prosperities and long lives to continually succour the needy.

Each family went away with some quantity of rice, beans, dry fish, magi, salt, indomie noodles groundnut oil and many others. Their children too, also left with varieties of gift items from the Father Christmas.
