… Swears in chief advisers, permsec.

By Sam Kaye

Governor Babagana Zulum has vowed to sack any renegade Commissioner who absents him or herself from office deliberately.

He said his government will not tolerate wilful absenteeism in which some Commissioners deliberately stay at home instead of their offices in respect of state matters.

While reeling out this riot act recently, he equally warned that his mission is aimed basically at fixing the economy and making life less difficult for the common masses.

The Governor assured that he is aware of the myriad of lapses in the service but the structure would be fixed very soon in view of his cause to make more progress for the people.

He urged the newly sworn in Commissioners to understand the problem of the people with a view of finding lasting solutions to them.

Zulum warned them not to see themselves as clannish overlords meant to service only their areas at the expense of the entire state they were appointed to fix.

“indeed, I want you to work hard to eliminate any remnant of insecurities within the council areas especially the metropolitan council area (Mmc) which I will soon reorganize.

” Before the end of my 4 year tenure, another fly over will be built at the western round about area of the city.

” We will also address the annual flooding in the state and ensure the ease of transportation by the procurement of more buses to ease the stress of the people in the state.”he stressed

The Governor called for the support of everyone in the state adding that without the support of the people very little can be achieved in Borno.

On security, the governor commended the armed forces for providing the necessary environment for them to work in this state.

Some of the commissioners retained included Hawa Abubakar justice who acted for some months before the present confirmation, Zuaira Gambo women affairs and Engineering Gubio who is now in the works ministry.

Other include Abubakar Tejani former transport now in water resources and Sugum Mele still holding on to local Govt, and Emirate affairs.

Controversial Sienna Buba narrowly escaped being thrown out of the youths and sports ministry as a result of what some of the APC elders described as disrespectful and power drunk postures he displayed in the last executive toward some of them in the party.

The boisterous Buba however is said to be in the good books of the Governor because he is the only one believed to have ready tug like tendencies to counter the brigandry of some of the young people in the state who do hard drugs.
