Ondo state Muslim Pilgrims have today, Friday June 30th, 2023 completed the throwing of pebbles on the devil at jamarat which marked the completion of the holy pilgrimage and have headed back to Mecca for tawaf, running round the sacred heart (kaabah) to bid the holy land farewell.
One of the pilgrims, Alhaji Abdulwasii Yuusuf hinted in a telephone chat, that “Today Friday 30th of June 2023, being the last day for Jamarat which stands for the stoning of Satan, marked the end of the pilgrims stay at Minna and will from today proceed to perform Tawaaful Ifaadah at Makkah.”
He said Tawaaful Ifaadah signifies the return of Muslim pilgrims to Makkah and the end of the Hajj spiritual activities.
According to him, Pilgrims have trooped out in the morning to perform jamarah in accordance with the Sunnah of prophet Muhammad (S A W) and are now at Mecca.
It would be recalled that the Ondo state Chairman of Muslim Welfare Board, Alhaji Zikirullahi Adam Chandy had earlier informed that the hajj rites would be completed with the throwing of 49 pebbles for thee days starting with seven pebbles the first day, 21 pebbles the second day and another 21 pebbles on the third day to complete the 2023 hajj pilgrimage rites.
The pilgrims, he stated would later depart the holy land in Saudi Arabia 10 days after the completion of the exercise.
