
Okitipupa local government chapter of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Society in Nigeria FOMWAN has celebrated its 2023 Week in grand style.
Contained in a report of activities made available to the media, the chapter observed the week late due to the death of one of its members.
According to the report, the local government chapter observed the week with an environmental sanitation exercise in one major Mosques in Okitipupa as members engaged in washing of toilets, cleaning of tiles and packing of refuse.

Members donated disinfectants, liquid soap, mobstick, brooms buckets e.t.c for easy work.
The chapter made visitation to Okitipupa Correctional Home and presented 4 cartoons of Indomie noodles consisting of 40 packs each, totalling 160 pieces, 2 dozens of bathing soap, 3 dozens of washing soap (soda), 4 sachets of Omo and 2 rolls of toothpaste, while FOMWAN Spiritual diet was given to the inmates on repentance.
Alhaja Akinpelumi who led members to the home spoke on the concept of sin and repentance while assuring the inmates that Allah can overlook their shortcomings and forgive them if they truly repent and promise never to go back to their sins.

Responding, two of the inmates appreciated FOMWAN and prayed fervently for the growth of the Association.
They solicited for an Imam to conduct Jumat service for them and seek FOMWAN’s visitation regularly.
“It will be a thing of joy, if you can visit and cook food for us during the forthcoming Id-il- Kabir to celebrate with us,” they pleaded.

The report stated that the inmates requested for mats for their Salah, Tesbiu and koidat, noting that majority of them are young boys who are not from the southern part of the country.
The third day of the programme witnessed visitation to FOMWAN’s Intellectual Secondary School, Okitipupa (FISSO) and FOMWAN adopted school Okitipupa (Ansaril Islam Secondary School) after a brief admonition on how to be a good students and were given some assorted gift items like; packets of biscuits, a pack of biro, cartoon of chalk and few others.
The Headmistress of Ansar-il-Islam primary School who simply gave her name as Mrs Adesanoye appreciated FOMWAN for complementing the efforts of government in the public school.
The staff of FOMWAN school on behalf of the students and school, appreciated the gesture and promised to do their best to make FOMWAN school great.
