Wemimo Applauds Aiyedatiwa for Signing Executive Orders
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on Agriculture and Agribusiness, Mr. Wemimo Akinsola, has applauded Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for signing four Executive Orders.
Mr. Akinsola praised the governor while briefing the press at his Alagbaka office in Akure on the importance of the Executive Orders to agricultural activities in the state.
According to the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Agribusiness, the Executive Orders are aimed at benefiting the state through the creation of more jobs for the youth and improving land accessibility for farmers.
The Executive Orders will also provide an enabling environment for business growth, improve physical planning, and protect landowners in the state, he noted.
The new Executive Orders, Akinsola added, will also encourage foreign investment in mechanized farming systems as well as agricultural value chains.
“The Aiyedatiwa-led administration is poised to reposition agriculture in the state. The government is going to acquire more land in the three Senatorial Districts in agreement with the families and host communities. After the necessary agreements are made, the land will be allocated to investors and farmers.”
“The issue of land grabbers and other limitations to acquiring land for development and agricultural purposes will be completely eliminated with the new Executive Orders,” he explained.
Mr. Akinsola also explained that the Executive Orders would help the government promote agribusiness reforms, particularly by providing all relevant stakeholders with mutually beneficial resolutions to agricultural land concerns and investment opportunities.
It should be recalled that the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, signed four Executive Orders, which cover: transparency in regulatory processes by MDAs, agribusiness reforms, improved physical planning, and the prohibition of land grabbing.
