SWS mourns SSG, commiserates with Ondo people
The StandUp for Women Society has expressed shock and sadness over the death of the Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, describing the situation as both unfortunate and very shocking.
The Ondo State Chairperson of the organization, Alhaja Rafat Momoh, expressed her sadness and postponed the state meeting, which was expected to be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, as a mark of respect. This was to join in the three-day mourning, which ends today.
She stated that the death of the SSG was a huge blow to the state and, in particular, to the people of Akure. She described him as a true gentleman to the core.
“We are in shock over the demise of our SSG, a complete gentleman who conducted his public and private life with decorum and humility, as expressed by His Excellency,” she said. “He passed away last Saturday while receiving treatment in a hospital after a ghastly motor accident.”
She appreciated God for a life well spent and stated that the organization mourns his passing.
The late Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi was a one-time Chairman of Akure South Local Government, a Commissioner, and twice the SSG.
“We particularly commiserate with His Excellency, our dear Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and his entire government, the Deji in Council, the entire Akure Kingdom, and the people of Ondo State on the loss of this illustrious son and uncommon leader.
“May he find rest in the bosom of his Creator, and may his immediate family and all of us be given the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,”she concluded.
