Muslims, particularly, religious leaders have been urged to use islamic religion to revive the nation from total collapse.

Ustaz Sulaiman Adams made the call while presenting a lecture with the theme:” Societal Re-Orientation: Islam an Embodiment of Societal values for Growth, Development and Morality.

Ustaz Adams who was the Guest lecturer at the Ondo state FOMWAN conference for 2024, held at Answar-ud-deen Central Mosque, Ogbagi in Akoko North West of the State, said people have deviated from Islamic studies teachings and embrace the societal ills of corruption which has eaten deeply in the society.

He observed that many people including majority of religious leaders and the lmams have involved themselves in corruption.

This, he attributed to the evil which has destroyed the country to the level it finds itself.

He applauded FOMWAN for its steadfastness in propagating the religion, declaring that FOMWAN works towards ‘Aljana’ paradise using the scriptures to propagate islam.

While saying that civilisation has taken over the country, Adams expressed satisfaction that FOMWAN remains the mirror of the society.

He begged FOMWAN to ensure that they have representatives in all the 18 local government areas to widening their scope of operation.

The Chairman of the Occasion, Hon. Bawa Akinsanya, in his Opening speech, said if not FOMWAN, the world would have worsened than what it is presently.

Akinsanya, who was a former state commissioner for teaching service commission described the year of hosting the conference as a peculiar one as he observed the competency of the local government FOMWAN leadership who he said were carefully selected by the imams.

In her welcome address, the State Amirah, Alhaja Medinat Omikunle said the conference was to step down the national conference of 2023 held at Sokoto which was aimed to further unite and strengthen the capacity of the association and discuss burning issues among muslims and the country at large.

She assured that the state Chapter will continue to advocate the message and spread the tolerant teachings of islam in in the whole world.

” We believe that the Ummah is now in need of tolerant teachings of renovation and to be inspired by the resolve in a way that it complies with the current ages and its development,” she stated.
