Saudi “Sleeping Prince” Reportedly Awakens After Two Decades in Coma
In a remarkable development, Prince Al‑Waleed bin Khalid bin Talal, often referred to as Saudi Arabia’s “Sleeping Prince,” is reported to have awakened after nearly 20 years in a coma following a 2005 car accident in the United Kingdom.
The prince, son of billionaire Prince Khalid bin Talal, had been on life support at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh. His family remained hopeful: in 2015, doctors advised discontinuing life support, but his father refused, saying, “If God wanted him to die in the accident, he would have already been buried” .
