Preach on continuous voter registration at Jumaat today , Aladesawe directs Imams

Jumaat Imams have been charged to use today’s Khutbah and other sittings to direct all eligible Muslim Voter in Ondo State who has issue with their voters card to participate in the continuous voters registration which will commence on Monday ,27th ,2024 across the state

The Chairman, League of Imams and Alfas, Ondo State, Sheikh (Dr) Ahmed Aladesawe made the call in a Press Release signed by the General Secretary, League of Imams and Alfas, Ondo State, Alh Sheikh Abdulrasheed O Akerele who also doubles as the the Chief Imam, Supare Akoko and made available to the media yesterday.

The release points particularly to the jumaat Imam to direct all eligible Muslims Voters whose Permanent Voters Cards have lost, defaced or mutilated including those that have attained the age of eighteen (18 ) years to go to their various wards in the 18 Local Governments of the State and partake in the Continuous Voters registration that will commenced on Monday May 27th ,2024.

This,  it stated is in order to get a new Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).
“This PVC will enable them to partake in future elections most especially the forth coming Governorship election in the State. ”

“The Continuous Voters Registration by INEC will commence throughout the State on Monday, May 27th 2024.”

It said INEC officials in Ondo State will be at all wards to attend to eligible voters willing to do the registration.

“Those who also want to transfer their PVCs from one Polling Unit to another are expected to use this opportunity to do so. ”

“All the Jumaat Imams, Ratibi Imams as well as leaders of Islamic organisation are advised to stress the importance of the above in their engagement with their congregation starting from today Friday 24th May 2024 during the khutbah.”

It urged Leaders of Mosques and Islamic Organisations to also facilitate how the exercise will be easy for  the Muslims in the state praying that Allah grant people success in all their endeavors.
