Osun First Lady Distributes 60,000 Exercise Books to Schools
By John Dike
In an effort to enhance learning, Osun State First Lady, Mrs. Titilayo Adeleke, has flagged off the distribution of about 60,000 exercise books to secondary school pupils across the state.
The effort, which is part of the ‘Renewed Hope Initiative Agenda’ of the wife of the President, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, aims to ensure that every child in the country has access to educational materials.
The program also aims to fulfill the long-held dreams of every Nigerian family for a better life and Nigeria students for improved educational resources.
While delivering her keynote address, Osun State First Lady, Mrs. Titilayo Adeleke, said providing writing materials became necessary to assist the students, having discovered that many pupils go to school without exercise books.
She stated that the distribution of exercise books is one of the many initiatives of Nigeria’s First Lady under the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ to bring succor to as many vulnerable homes as possible across the country.
“In her words, ‘This intervention is one of the education-related initiatives across the state and about sixty thousand units of exercise books were delivered to Osun for onward distribution to public primary and secondary schools across the state,'” she added.
She therefore appealed to parents to complement the government’s efforts in meeting their children’s educational needs, as the government cannot do it alone.
The Governor’s wife added that parents’ support of their children in school will significantly boost the academic performance of the students.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Education in the state, Hon. Dipo Eluwole, appreciated the government’s efforts in ensuring that Osun people have access to quality education.
He then assured that the exercise books will be put to good use by the students, stressing that proper monitoring will ensure the books are distributed correctly.
