Okitipupa Local government FOMWAN Takes Advocacy to Atoranse Community in Ondo State

Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Okitipupa local government in Ondo State on Sunday, May 11, 2025, embarked on a DAWAH outreach to Atoranse community in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State as part of its efforts to introduce the organization to Muslim women in the area.

During her address, the immediate past Amirah of Ondo State FOMWAN, Alhaja Aminat Akinpelumi expressed appreciation to the Baale and the League of Imams for the honour accorded the delegation.

She gave a detailed explanation of FOMWAN’s vision and mission, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to promoting the welfare, education, and religious values of Muslim women.

Akinpelumi also sought the cooperation of the community leaders in facilitating the presence and growth of FOMWAN in Atoranse community.

In response, the Imams, after the Baale’s formal acceptance of the organization, pledged their full support and promised to encourage their respective women groups to register with FOMWAN and participate actively in its programmes.

In a gesture of solidarity and support, the community presented the visiting team with a reception fee of ₦20,000.

The visit continued with a session at one of the central mosques, where prayers were offered, and further enlightenment on FOMWAN’s objectives was shared with community members.

Iyaloja of Atoranse was appointed the protem treasurer while interim positions were distributed among representatives of the townships present, with a directive for them to present their executive members at the next visit, scheduled to take place after the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, God willing.

The leadership of Okitipupa FOMWAN expressed profound gratitude to all members who contributed to the success of the outreach and prayed for divine rewards and continued unity in advancing the organization’s mission.
