Monarch tasks politicians, philanthropists to partner SWS on women’s development
The Olowa of Igbara-Oke Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede Ilufemiloye, the Ogidi II of Igbara-Oke, has called on politicians and philanthropists to partner with the StandUp for Women Society (SWS) on women’s development.
Oba Ilufemiloye made the call while playing host to members of the SWS, Ondo State chapter, at his royal palace in Igbara-Oke Kingdom, Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The Olowa, who is the Director General , Southwest Council of Obas, described the SWS as a formidable organisation that is positively impacting the lives of women and the community in general.
He said the organisation is not for personal purposes or interests, but for the development of women to make them more useful to society, the state, and the country at large.
He charged members of the group not to relent in their activities, but to do more and be more, urging them to intensify efforts in mobilising and raising the financial funds needed to meet their expectations.
He assured his continued support and royal backing for the association to achieve its goals and deliver its purpose for establishment.
Speaking earlier, the State Chairman of the SWS, Alhaja Rafat Momoh, outlined the group’s activities for the year 2025.
Among several others, she mentioned the association’s yearly conference, which she said will be held in Lagos between September 13-16, where representatives from outside Nigeria and all 36 states of the federation, including Abuja, will converge to discuss women’s advancement and nation-building.
Momoh appreciated the royal father and members of the association for their steadfastness and commitment to the development of the association, the state, and the country at large.
Members also join others to observe the jumat service to mark the celebration of the Armed forces rememberance day at the Akure Central mosque , Oba Adesida road in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
