Hajj 2023: Ondo pilgrims pray for Akeredolu, set for pilgrimage rites

As the 512 Ondo state Muslim pilgrims are set to commence the 2023 year pilgrimage rites in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, they have commenced a special prayers for quick recovery of the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredoulu SAN on Tuesday June 20, 2023.

The Ondo state Chairman of the Muslim Welfare Board, Alhaji Dhikrullahi Adam Chandy who led the prayer session, said the pilgrims would continue to observe prayers for the governor throughout their stay in the holy land till the completion of their pilgrimage rites.

Contained in a write up made available to journalists, prayers were also offered for President Bola Tinubu and the people of Ondo state and Nigeria in general.

The pilgrims who recited the complete Qur’an, prayed to Allah to grant the governor a complete and divine healing and quick recovery so that his good work can continue in Ondo State.

According to the Muslim Scholars at the prayer session in the holy land, sickness is a test from Allah which they assured that the challenges will be overcomed .

Speaking at the end of the prayer, Secretary of the State Muslim Welfare Board, Alhaji Mutiu Omoniyi reiterated the importance of praying for islamic leaders as he assured that prayer for Mr governor would continue till the end of Hajj activities.

He also confirmed that all the significant places to be visited during the hajj process would also be targeted at praying for the governor .

In a telephone chat, a pilgrim, Ustaz Abdulwasi Yusuf disclosed that the pilgrims have been prepared for the commencement of the pilgrimage rites proper.

This, he stated would involve movement to Muna, Arafat ,Muzdalifa , Jamrah and many other places where important rites would be performed.

He said the Board Chairman, Alhaji Dhikrullahi Chandy Adam has explained the processes involved in performing an acceptable Hajj and has warned the pilgrims against violating the established rules of the exercise.
