FG Will Rehabilitate Abandoned Roads – Tinubu Aide Assures

By John Dike, Osogbo

The Personal Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Constituency Affairs, Alh. Kareem Khadijat Omotayo, has said that the president is committed to addressing issues that are detrimental to the development of the nation.

She said the current administration is dedicated to transparency, accountability, and responding to the needs of the people. Hence, the future is bright for development with the support of all and sundry.

Omotayo spoke during a Town Hall meeting with various stakeholders, such as the Market Women Association, Civil Society Groups, Student Union, NUJ, NLC, among others, held at the Local Government Secretariat in Abere, Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Monday.

The Town Hall meeting provided an opportunity for various stakeholders to voice their concerns about the neglect of some basic infrastructure in various constituencies, especially the abandonment of federal road projects across Osun State.

Her words: “I want to assure you that Mr. President is committed to working tirelessly to address the issues that matter most to you all. The President’s administration is dedicated to transparency, accountability, and responsiveness to your needs.

“We recognize the unique challenges facing Osun State, from infrastructure development to economic empowerment.

“The President’s goal is to create a brighter future for the good people of Osun State, where every citizen has access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.

“To achieve this vision, we will work closely with local stakeholders, community leaders, and civil society organizations. All our discussions here will be communicated to the President for immediate action, and I assure you that your voices will be heard.

“We will cultivate trust by being transparent, responsive, and accountable to your needs, and we will address real-world challenges to have a tangible impact on your lives.”

She charged the stakeholders to list any abandoned federal projects in Osun State for onward transmission to the President’s office for immediate action, adding that during her next visit to Osun State, there will be a massive empowerment program for the people.

Earlier, the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, commended the President for organizing the town hall meeting in collaboration with the state government.

He said the event is a signal that the President truly values collective leadership for the delivery of democratic dividends in Nigeria.

“We commend the President for sending his envoy to interact with the people of Osun. Our policy from the beginning has been one of partnership and collaboration with the center, without political coloration. We believe development transcends political division.

“What is happening today is therefore in line with our philosophy and perspectives. We see this avenue as a productive way to drive national development.

“We have listened to our people. They have talked about the need for respect for democratic rules and practices. Our people have canvassed the need for the rule of law and support for people-focused governance.

“Our people also appreciate the President for the palliatives. Our government distributed the palliatives and also expanded the content and reach.

“Our people support the President’s reform efforts. The President has our support in the drive to rebuild the national economy.

“As a state, we are also happy with the increasing partnership between the subnational and the center. Building the nation demands collective efforts.

“We remain committed to federal-state partnership and look forward to the completion of abandoned federal roads across the state. There are many abandoned projects in Osun State.”
