Bride, companions kidnapped after wedding

A newly wedded bride and her companions have been abducted by yet-to- be identified armed bandits.

The bride and her companions were said to be abducted inside a truck after the bandits intercepted them on Thursday night along Gami Road in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State.

According to a reliable source, the bride accompanied by approximately 30 women, were en route to her husband’s residence in Ungwan Murjiya in Dandume LGA between 8:30-9pm when the convoy fell prey to the hoodlums.

It was also revealed that the truck conductor was shot, and he is currently receiving treatment at Damari Hospital.

Meanwhile, in another incident around the same time, gunmen reportedly attacked Siddi forest, infiltrated Tashar Nadaya, near the Gazari district border in Sabuwa LGA.

The criminals whom were in their numbers also killed a commercial motorcycle rider, collected his bike and opened fire on a group of four individuals with their motorcycles confiscated.

While speaking, Chairman of Dandume Local Government Council, Alhaji Basiru Musa, confirmed the reports.

He noted that, although the women were from Dandume, where the criminals intercepted them on their way from Sabuwa Local Government Area at about 9pm.

Sabuwa and Dandume are among the local government areas being heavily tormented by bandits in Katsina State.
