MUSWEN, NACOMYO Owo Mourn Aladesawe
The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) and the National Council of Muslim Youths Organisation (NACOMYO), Owo Chapter have condoled with the Muslim community of Owo over the death of Sheikh Ahmad Oladoke Aladesawe, Chief Imam of Owo and Chairman of the Ondo State League of Imams and Alfas.
In a statement on Tuesday signed by MUSWEN, President, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, and Executive Secretary, Professor Muslih Tayo Yahya, MUSWEN said it received news of the cleric’s passing “with submission to the will of Allah.”
MUSWEN described Sheikh Aladesawe who died on Monday night at the age of 91 as a paragon of Islamic scholarship, a unifying force for peace and a pillar of community service in Ondo State and beyond.
The organisation extended condolences to his family, the Owo Muslim community, the Olowo of Owo, the Ondo State government and all who were touched by his life.
It prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus and give the community the fortitude to bear the loss, urging Muslims to intensify prayers during the mourning period.
Also, the National Council of Muslim Youths Organisation (NACOMYO), Owo Chapter, has expressed grief over the death of Aladesawe (JP).
In a statement signed by its Secretary, Hon. Jimoh Yunus, the group said it received with “profound sadness” the news of the cleric’s passing on Tuesday. It extended its condolences to the bereaved family, the Muslim community in Owo and Ondo State, and the wider Muslim Ummah.
Describing the death of the Chief Imam as “a significant loss to the community,” NACOMYO acknowledged his contributions to the spiritual growth and development of Muslims in Nigeria, particularly in Owo Local Government.
“We pray that Allah (SWT) grants his soul eternal peace and gives his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” the statement added.
