Ondo NCWS Bids Morohunkeji Farewell to Eternity

The Ondo State chapter of the National Council of Women’s Societies (NCWS) bids farewell to one of its founding members, Ajibade Elizabeth Morohunkeji (née Olabode), as she was laid to rest.

Pastor Olabode Ogungbade, the junior brother of Mama Morohunkeji and the only son of their parents from Igboliki, described his sister as a good person during her lifetime.

“She was very compassionate and affectionate, and very dear to me. She took excellent care of me, and we will really miss her. We tried everything we could, but God knows best. She was a wonderful woman who took care of everyone in the family.

She never allowed anyone to suffer and made sure that everyone was fine, even financially,” he said. “I have already started missing her. I will miss her affection and good character.”

A former Ondo State President of NCWS and national PRO, Hon. Adebimpe Kikelomo Adeniyi (née Faloye), regarded Elizabeth as a very close and dear friend.

“We started Akure South NCWS together. She was a very straightforward and bold woman. She followed me closely when she was alive. I can’t imagine seeing her being laid to rest, but I believe that by the grace of God, whatever she left behind will prosper,” she said.

Her legacy will forever be remembered, as she was a blunt, straightforward personality who preached peace and order. She was a strong supporter and stood by me throughout my leadership roles, right from the local government level.

“I can’t forget them. I know God will be with each one of us. She didn’t believe in backbiting. She always told the truth,” she added.

The State President of the society, Bishop Oluwaseyi Odusola, simply said that Morohunkeji was a woman of substance, a great mentor who was always there to make a lasting impact.

“Her valuable suggestions for the development of our great society will surely be missed,” Odusola said.
