Iyalaje Oka commends Ooni’s humility on visitation
Alhaja Bolaji Kayode, the Iyalaje of Oka Akoko in the Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State, has commended the humility displayed by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Dr. Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, during his recent visit to Oka land.
As one of the distinguished Oka natives who joined the Olubaka, Oba Dr. Adebori Adeleye, OON, in welcoming the Ooni, Iyalaje praised the monarch for his dedication, noting that despite his position as the foremost Yoruba monarch and Arole Oodua, the Ooni braved the distance and challenging road conditions to connect with his kinsmen.

She remarked that his visit underscored his affection for the people of Oka and, especially, for the Olubaka, highlighting the deep bond between Ile-Ife and Oka land. According to her, the Ooni’s visit, which she described as a “mission of unity,” would strengthen ties and foster unity between the two communities.

The Iyalaje prayed for Ooni Ogunwusi, wishing him a reign marked by longevity and good health. She also expressed appreciation to the Olubaka of Oka land, Oba Dr. Adebori Adeleye, OON, for his fatherly role and admired his exemplary leadership, which she noted has attracted significant attention and accelerated development in the community.
