Hardships: WAWIWA Calls for Peaceful Dialogue
Ambassador Binta Adejoke Aminu, Director General of the Wazobia Widows Welfare Association (WAWIWA), has appealed to Nigerians to ensure peaceful dialogue and understanding during these challenging times.
This appeal was contained in a statement personally signed by the Director General of the Association.
The statement, titled “A Call for Peaceful Dialogue,” acknowledged the difficulties faced by many and the legitimate concerns about governance and economic hardship.
WAWIWA believes that unity and dialogue are the most powerful tools for positive change, noting that the government is currently implementing policies aimed at improving the nation’s economic situation, which should be allowed to manifest.
It noted that it has observed the unfortunate outcomes of unrest in the country and around the world.
“Violent protests and disruptions often lead to more harm than good, affecting the most vulnerable among us, especially widows, children, and the elderly.”
WAWIWA stands for peace, stability, and constructive engagement.
It urges its members and the broader community to channel their energies into supporting peaceful initiatives that foster understanding and cooperation.
“Let’s work together to hold our leaders accountable in ways that do not endanger our hard-won peace and progress.”
“Together, with patience and perseverance, we can overcome these challenges and build a brighter future for all Nigerians,” the statement concluded.
