Assembly commended over passage of PWDs Bill

By John Dike

The Bill to ensure that persons with disabilities have equal access to essential services such as health, education, employment, and social amenities that promote inclusion has been passed.

The bill’s passage demonstrates the Osun State House of Assembly’s commitment to fostering an environment of inclusivity and support for all members of society.

Meanwhile, Persons With Disabilities thanked the state lawmakers for the feat and urged the state governor, Ademola Adeleke to quickly give assent to the passed bill.

One of the PWDs in the state, Mrs Funmilayo Abdullahi also appreciated all stakeholders who assisted in ensuring that the bill was passed and urged them to put more efforts by ensuring that the state governor signs the bill.

“We, the Persons With Disabilities in Osun State are grateful to the Osun State House of Assembly for the passage of the Osun Disability Bill into law.

“This feat is a great step towards ensuring better welfare for us and better opportunities for us to contribute our quota to the development of our society.

“As we are thanking all those God used to make this happen, we are also begging our amiable Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke to quickly give assent to the bill,” Mrs Abdullahi said.
