327 Ondo poultry farmers benefit FG’s training , empowerment
A total of 327 beneficiaries from Four local government areas in Ondo State have benefitted from the Federal Government training and empowerment for small holder poultry farmers.
The four local governments are : Ondo West, Ondo East, Idanre and Ile Oluji local government areas of Ondo State respectively.

The Federal Government through the Department of Agricultural Extension Service of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security partnered MESSR JOSSY FEMTO LTD to trained and empowered the small holder poultry farmers
Declaring the training open in Ondo City, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Mr Temitope Fasedemi who was represented by the State Coordinator of the Ministry, Mr Akeem Ogundeko said beneficiaries of the programme were carefully selected for the training.
He also informed that the beneficiaries were empowered with 25 day old chicks, 3 bags (25kg) poultry feeds, one park zyme each to facilitate their poultry businesses.

Fasedemi who hinted that Ondo North and South local governments were earlier trained and empowered, advised farmers to adhere to lessons taught and make judicious use of the training and the farm inputs supplied.
He however assured of government’s continuous support to them at all times.
Speaking at the event, the Ondo state Commissioner for Agriculture and Forestry, Mr Olayato Aribo who was represented by the Ondo state Agricultural Development Project (ADP) programme Manager. Mrs Margaret Adesina welcomed all beneficiaries and advised them to use the training experience to manage their birds.
He also enjoined them to replicate the lessons taught from the training to other farmers within their different locations.
He appreciated the initiative of the organisers particularly the Permanent Secretary, Mr Temitope Fasedemi and Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security for the training/empowerment, describing it as a wonderful performance as well regarding FEMTO as a very good partner.

In their separate reactions, some of the beneficiaries Atinuke Grace Darapale and Akinmade Oladipupo expressed their joy and promised to make judicious use of the training and farm inputs.
Present at the occasion were a former Commissioner of the Ondo State Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Jibayo Oyebade, Mrs Christiana Malgwi and other officials from Abuja.
