2025 Ramadan Iftar: Ondo Muslims laud Tunji-Ojo’s impacts

The Ondo Muslim community has applauded the Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, for restoring public confidence in the administration of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

They also commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Tunji-Ojo as a minister, noting that he has distinguished himself among other political appointees.

Delivering a lecture at the Minister’s special 2025 Ramadan programme and Iftar, hosted by the minister, the guest lecturer, Alhaji Sheik AbdulRafiu Ajiboye Lagbaji, stated that Tunji-Ojo’s leadership has given people renewed hope in the present administration.

He highlighted the minister’s numerous achievements, particularly his annual Iftar with the Muslim community.

He urged Governor Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to emulate this practice by hosting Iftar earlier and prioritising the provision of raw foodstuffs, which would reach more attendees than prepared meals that may not go around.

In his presentation, Lagbaji also called on people to maintain a cordial relationship with members of other religious faiths, citing the minister’s effort in organising Iftar for Muslims as an example.

“Do not associate with those who incite conflict. Be faithful in doing what is right, and do not dwell on the good deeds you do for others let your actions speak for themselves,” he said.

The Chairman of the occasion, Engr. Bello Aliu, commended the minister for demonstrating good upbringing.

He urged religious and traditional leaders to continue supporting him in prayers.

The royal father of the day, Oba Dr. Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, praised the minister for making people understand the significance of his office, appreciating the President for appointing him.

“I have been on the throne for over 37 years, and I have never seen such an impactful initiative.

“He is not the first minister, yet his efforts stand out,” he declared.

Representing the state governor, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Engagement for Ondo North, Hon. Bode Obanla, urged citizens to contribute to efforts aimed at combating insecurity.

He encouraged the minister to institutionalise the Ramadan programme from next year and assured attendees that he would convey their messages to the governor.

A member of the House Committee on Students’ Loans and Scholarships, Hon. Ife Ehindero, who represented the minister at the event, called for continuous prayers for him.

He described the minister as a God-sent leader who works in line with divine principles. He also enumerated several of the minister’s accomplishments, including the employment of people, the distribution of palliatives to Muslims, and the facilitation of a more efficient passport application process.

A key highlight of the event was the presentation of the most prestigious award by the Ondo Muslim community.
