… Seeks govt, relevant agencies’ intervention

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, has demanded for justice over an alleged missing placenta of a new born baby at Emure-Ile Comprehensive Health Centre in Owo Local Government Area of the State.

In a press release signed by both the Ondo state Acting Chairman and the secretary of the Association, Comrade Tola Gbadamosi and Oluwatosin Ighoteguono and made available to journalists, described the ugly development as unprofessional.

Th women journalists maintained that no stone must be left unturned in getting to the root of the matter.

With the situation lingering for days, after the concerned family had raised alarm due to failure of the health workers to hand over the placenta to them after delivery, it was disclosed that two health workers and a security man have been apprehended in connection with the stolen placenta in the said hospital .

Ondo NAWOJ, however, frowned at the odd treatment meted out to the family going by the years they have been waiting for the fruit of the womb as the hospital officials also claimed that a dog entered the facility, taking away the placenta.

The Association is calling on the Ondo state government, relevant security agencies, and Ministry of health to urgently probe further into the issue, bring perpetrators to book and get justice for the innocent child.
