Monarch tasks faithfuls on prayers, supports for development
Religions faithful have been enjoined to use the period of Ramadan and Lent to pray for the massive development of Surulere quarters in Akungba-Akoko area of Ondo state .
The Onisuru I of Surulere, Akungba Akoko, High Chief Aleriwa Ajayi gave the advice during the 1st meeting of the Surulere Quarters for 2024.
Ajayi urged residents of Surulere to be good ambassadors of the quarters wherever they may find themselves.
He promised to see all the concerned personalities so that Araromi Quarters could be linked with Surulere by constructing a bridge between the two quarters (Otapeje bridge).
He noted that the Otapeje stream is the stream that separated Araromi and Surulere, which he observed needs urgent attention in order to develop Surulere.
While appreciating the presence of other chiefs in Akungba, Ajayi promised to work with everyone in order to develop Surulere under his watch.
He also promised to visit Alakungba of Akungba, Alakunmi of Akunmi and Alara of Araromi to solicit their supports towards achieving the developmental objectives.
Earlier, Dr. Balogun Anthony welcomed the Onisuru I of Surulere, promising that the people of Surulere will work and cooperate with him to develop Surulere.
Mr. Oladunjoye Olatunde Michael (Divine) offered special prayer for Surulere people and its environs, while Mr. Omiye Olatunbosun gave the vote of thanks .
It was concluded that a formal letter be written to both local and state governments through all the concern citizens like: Alakungba of Akungba, Alakunmi of Akunmi and Alara of Araromi) to include Surulere as full fledge quarter in Akungba.
