Eid El-Fitr: Ondo MMPN Greets Muslims, Praises Government and Stakeholders for Ramadan Palliatives

The Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN), Ondo State Chapter, extends warm greetings to all Muslim faithful across the state as they celebrate Eid El-Fitr, marking the end of the 2026 holy month of Ramadan.

The association, in a press release signed by the State Chairman and the Secretary, Mr Jubril Bada and Alhaja Fatima Muraina, congratulates the Ummah on the successful observance of fasting, prayers, charity and other acts of devotion, and prays that the blessings and lessons of Ramadan will endure beyond the sacred period.

MMPN commends the Governor of Ondo State, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his inclusive leadership and for organising iftar programmes that foster unity and spiritual reflection among Muslim faithful in the state.

It also applauds the Governor for reopening the Ikare Central Mosque, which had been closed for over four years, and calls on the Ikare Muslim Ummah to remain united and focused on propagating Islam for the development of the community and the state at large.

The association also expresses profound appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, for the Ramadan palliative support and his thoughtful initiative in hosting iftar gatherings, which further strengthened bonds among Muslims during the holy month.

MMPN extends its gratitude to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration for the support and goodwill extended to Muslims in Ondo State during the fasting period.

The association equally acknowledges the efforts of the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Amidu Takuro; the Chief Imam of Akure Kingdom, Sheikh Alhaji AbdulHakeem Yayi-Akorede; as well as other Islamic religious leaders for organising programmes aimed at promoting unity among the faithful.

Special recognition is given to Islamic organisations such as the state chapters of the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO) and the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN) for their roles in ensuring that Ramadan gifts from stakeholders, including the Near Foundation and a support group which does not wish to be named, were distributed fairly and evenly to Muslims across the state.

MMPN prays for continued peace, unity and prosperity in Ondo State and Nigeria at large, urging all faithful to sustain the virtues of discipline, compassion and generosity imbibed during Ramadan.
