The Ondo state chapter of Coalition of Muslim Women for Asiwaju (COMWA) has distributed Ramadan relief packages to not less than 50 widows and the less privileged across the state.

Speaking during the distribution on Thursday in Akure, the state Co-Ordinator, Alhaja Halimat Adam said the intention was to make the distribution at the three Senatorial Districts, but that the current situation did not permit it, promising that it will be done across the Senatorial Districts during the next Ramadan in year 2024.

Adams applauded those who supported her in actualising her initiative among which included; the state Commissioner for Works, Land and Infrastructure, Hon. Raimi Aminu, Special Adviser to the Governor on Forestry, Hon. Fatai Olotu, Chairman, Ondo Muslim Welfare Board, Alhaji Zikirullah Adam, Secretary, Ondo State Muslim Welfare Board, Mr Mutiu Mohammed, Alhaja Opeyemi O. Oyediran and Alhaja Khadijat Balogun.

The COMWA National Welfare Officer, Alhaja Rafat Momoh appreciated the donors for their assistance towards providing the palliatives.

According to her, palliatives distributed showed that members would be remembered when things began to unfold in the administration of Tinubu.

She prayed for God’s continuous grace and mercy for all the donors.

While delivering the message of the National Co-ordinator, Momoh explained that the group was established for all the Muslim women organisations and associations to support in delivering Asiwaju and for smooth administration.

The S tate Federation of Muslim Women Association FOMWAN, Alhaja Medinat Omikunle in her exhortation, applauded the state Co-ordinator’s initiative in extending the gesture to the less privileged which she said is contained in the Holy Quran, saying that a good believer is expected to perform Zakaat and be more prayerful.

The State Public Relations Officer, Alhaja Folashade Gold said the Co-ordinator used the occasion to appreciate God in her life.

The palliatives, she stated, would be a hailing product praying that the more they consume them, the stronger and happier they would be.

The Spiritual Mother , Alhaja Zulpha Akorede who was in attendance, gave the suspension prayer and prayed for better life and God’s protection at all times.
