Ile Oluji Youth Condemn Public Assault, Human Rights Infringement on Elder Areola
The youth of Ile Oluji, Ondo State, have strongly condemned the public assault and infringement of fundamental human rights perpetrated against Elder Abraham Areola JP, a respected member of our community in Ile Oluji, Ondo State.
The youth, under the umbrella body of the Oijefon Youth Council, are compelled to speak out against the act of inhumanity committed against an elderly son of the soil in Orile Ifo, Ogun State, by Oba Semiu Adewale Ogunjobi, the suspended Olorile of Orile Ifo in Ogun State.
In a press statement signed and made available to newsmen in Ile Oluji, the headquarters of Ile Oluji Okeigbo Local Government, the president of Oijefon Youth Council, Engr. Adedokun Adeyemi Adeyonu, stated that a proper investigation must be carried out and the perpetrators must be held accountable for their actions.
“We condemn this egregious behaviour in the strongest possible terms, as it not only violates the rights and dignity of Elder Abraham Areola JP but also undermines the values of respect, tolerance, and human rights that our community holds dear.”
“While we thank the Ogun State Government for their swift action, we urge the relevant authorities to take further steps to investigate this incident, ensure justice is served, and prevent such occurrences in the future. It is our collective responsibility to safeguard the rights and well-being of all members of our community, particularly our elders and vulnerable individuals.”
“As young people, we are committed to promoting cultural values, mutual respect, inclusivity, and social justice. We will continue to advocate for the protection of human rights and the dignity of all individuals, regardless of their background, age, or social status.”
